Our Winter Open House is an excellent opportunity to meet our faculty and learn how we use rich, detailed data to develop a personal learning plan for each child. Surf City USA Marathon & Half Marathon Feb 2-4
This exclusive oceanfront course is a California Dream! Run on Pacific Coast Highway past the famous Huntington Beach pier and wind through the legendary surfing beaches of Southern California. Retro surf bands entertain along the way and the Finish Line Party includes a beach side beer garden in the California sun. Finishers receive bodacious surfboard medals!
Annual Monarch Butterfly Day Feb 3
OC Parks invites children and families to learn all about Monarch Butterflies and their natural habitat with an up-close look at the magnificent creatures. Children can assist in planting plants to attract Monarch Butterflies.
Rotary/CARE Car Show to Benefit Rotary charities, Capistrano Animal Rescue Feb 3
The Car Show once again promises a fabulous display of over 400 antique and classic cars and trucks. The return of the popular New-Car Row will show the latest models from local dealers. Bring the family! This is a pet-friendly event and many of last years’ attendees had their four-legged friends in tow.

Human Rights Watch Film Festival Feb 1-4
The Human Rights Watch Film Festival returns to the Museum of Photographic Arts. Now in its eighth year, the festival presents a unique program encompassing six films and discussions that address a wide range of human rights issues from around the world. The film festival brings to life human rights abuses through storytelling in a way that challenges each individual to empathize and demand justice for all people.
Super Run 10K Run & 5K Run/Walk Feb 3
Flat and fast courses, both begin and finish in South Shores Park. 10K runs along Sea World Drive and bike path to Ingrahm Street to Crown Point Park and returns. 5K will share part of 10K course along Sea World drive and on sidewalks along the bay and returns to the park. This event benefits Water for Children Africa.
Save a Heart Save a Life 5K Feb 3
The Eric Paredes Save a Life Foundation presents their first Save a Heart Save a Life 5K run/walk. All participants receive a Save a Heart Save a Life 5K T-shirt, unique finisher medal, and post-race food and drink. The mission of the Eric Paredes Save a Life Foundation is to influence families, educators, elected officials, and the medical community to recognize the incidence of youth SCA/D and the importance of preventative heart screenings and to support equipping schools with automated external defibrillators (AED) plus CPR/AED training.
